This type of forest is an ecosystem typical from the Mediterranean region resulting from traditional land management. This ecosystem is an European Union priority habitat. The property functions as a field station for the cE3c – Centre for Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Changes, and thus its panels also include information about the sampling techniques of various biological groups. The field station was created to provide lodging and other infrastructures to students, researchers and guest scientists, which are interested in developing ecology research projects. |
