How to get there?
In Barranco do Velho head to the church, where the marked Via Algarviana trail starts. A little more ahead you will find the EBIO’s first panel.

Short description
The Barranco do Velho Biodiversity Station belongs to the Natura 2000 Caldeirão site and it coincides with a section of the Via Algarviana, which takes the hikers to Salir (more information in www.viaalgarviana.org). Throughout the way you can enjoy the Serra do Caldeirão landscape, dominated by cork oaks and Mediterranean bushes.
